AUSTIN, Texas--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Greenbelt Capital Management L.P. (“Greenbelt Capital Partners,” “Greenbelt” or the “Firm”), an Austin, Texas-based private equity firm focused on investing in leading middle-market companies that are driving the transition of the energy and power industries toward a more resilient, carbon competitive, and electrified future, today announced the final close of its inaugural fund, Greenbelt Capital Partners III L.P. (“Fund III” or the “Fund”), at $1 billion.

Closing at its hard cap and above the initial target of $750 million, the Fund received support from a diverse set of new and existing institutional investors, including pension funds, sovereign wealth funds and insurance companies and foundations, across North America, Europe and Asia-Pacific.

Founded in 2022, Greenbelt is led by Chris Manning, CEO and Managing Partner, and Glenn Jacobson, Managing Partner, who have worked together for over two decades and have collectively deployed over $6 billion of equity capital. The Firm leverages deep industry expertise, a collaborative culture and a value-driven investment approach to support companies operating at the intersection of energy, power and infrastructure transformation.

“We’re proud to have assembled a high-quality group of investors that share our long-term vision and commitment to building businesses that are both commercially excellent and critical to the future of energy and infrastructure,” said Manning. “We are truly grateful for the strong support and confidence from our limited partners around the world.”

“Our team is at the front end of what we believe is a generational investment opportunity,” added Jacobson. “We sit at the intersection of several defining megatrends—from grid modernization and power generation to digital infrastructure, industrial electrification and energy efficiency. We aim to help drive a carbon competitive and sustainable future by backing strong commercial leaders who are shaping the next era of innovation and economic growth.”

The final close of Fund III brings Greenbelt’s total assets under management to approximately $2.5 billion. The Firm has already begun deploying capital into multiple portfolio companies, and has a robust pipeline of opportunities under active consideration.
